Teaser Tuesday: The winner stands alone of Paulo Coelho

For this Teaser Tuesday I have chosen “The winner stands alone” by Paulo Coelho, my Mother’s Day Present, a gift from my best friend/sister/godmother of my child. She knows I love Paulo Coelho and have read most of his books. I’m reading it in Spanish, so I’m translating!

So here is the Teaser:

“The Beretta Px4 compact pistol is slightly larger than a mobile phone, weighs around 700 grams and can fire ten shots. Small, light, invisible when carried in a pocket, its small calibre has one enormous advantage: instead of passing through the victim’s body, the bullet hits bones and smashes everything in its path.”

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  1. My Teaser Tuesday entry comes from the story Juan and Adela by Michelle Herrera Mulligan, found in Juicy Mangos, edited by Ms. Herrera Mulligan.

“Juan’s head snapped up, his eyes boiling with a sudden intensity. He slapped the table with his hand, and Adela felt electricity blow through her.”

  2. Nice teaser here is mine: “What if I completely forget what I am going to say? What if my points are not that powerful? What if the women do not connect with my stories or laugh at my humor? What if….?”
